Is A Credit Card free If you pay it off?

If I get a credit card with no annual fee, will it be free if all the money I spend on it gets paid off on time? I am getting confused about all of the fees associated with various cards, but I get the impression they are for people who leave a balance on their card for an extended period of time.

  1. correct. if you pay the balance in full every month you'll accumulate no interest charges.
  2. If you pay within the terms of the contract, the card should not accrue interest. But with the credit environment these days, that may eventually get the card terminated. Good luck.
  3. Some cards charge interest ONLY on unpaid balances, and others charge interest each month based on your average balance. You have to read the terms of the credit card to know.
  4. There is only one way to use credit cards to get top credit scores. You charge things you need like food or gas, and you pay in full each month. Any other way ruins credit - and can destroy your life. Remember employers check, so do car insurance companies and landlords. More than 50% of card holders last year did not pay any fees, or a penny interest. I know its hard to believe, but most people pay their cards in full each month. Carrying balances and paying interrest is for trailer people - let them do it - not you. /
  5. If you pay your balance off every month you should not get any fees. The only fee you would look for is an annual fee. Generally most cards do not have one, but still something to check for. I know I use my credit card for everything and just pay the balance off each month with an easy transfer.
  6. yes and if you have rewards you will get free money
