Credit Card Interest Free Periods, when does the period actually end?

I took on my first credit card at the beginning of the year with a 3 month interest free period on purchases. Now I am unsure whether this 3 months ends 3 months after I opened the account or after I have recieved my third bill, or if it is another date? Could any one please give me a hint?

1. Its 3 months after you open the account weather you made a purchase or not.
2. It's hard to answer that without being able to read the actual terms and conditions, and those things usually read like only a lawyer can understand them.
