Visa and Mastercards

What are the differences between Discover Cards and Visa/Master Cards?

At door ways of most shop in united state, I see only the Visa/Master cards and I rarely see discover accepting signs. So is it correct that if we can use discover credit cards at only a few selected places? and cannot use outside of US?

  1. that is the main difference. many places do not accept discover. i believe their transaction costs are higher than visa/mc
  2. The transaction fee they charge merchants is slightly higher than Visa / MasterCard. It is a good card; it is excepted in most places in the U.S. I have traveled to about ten countries and although I have seen American Express accepted in quite a few places, I have never seen Discover accepted. Perhaps they do have a presence in some countries. I know that Sears started Discover and they sold it off about fifteen years ago. http://www.creditwish.com
  3. There is a big difference. When it comes to your ability to dispute credit card purchases, VISA's dispute criteria is way more leniant and consumer friendly than Mastercard's. You would be more likely to win a VISA dispute than a Mastercard. ----------------------------------------- http://www.bestcreditrates.net
