What credit card should I go for citi bank or bank of america? I have a credit score of 700 and wanting another credit card. I was thinking about citi bank or bank of america. What one should I get? I only have one other credit card from Wumu. I want a credit card that report to the 3 credit bureaus every month. Anyone has either one of these cards, if so, what one did you like and why?
What credit card would you recommend for someone trying to re-establish good credit history? I have decent credit but I had cancelled all my cards when trying to get out of debt. I am now free of all unsecured debt but I need to have a card so in the future I won't be hurt by having no credit. I'm thinking I want a card with no annual fee and a low APR. The card would only be used very occassionally and paid off immediately. I have no desire to repeat previous mistakes. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good card for this purpose? Okay, as I said, but everyone is skipping, is that I have decent credit. My credit score is 700. When I got into trouble I went into debt consolidation right away BEFORE my credit got screwed up. But I do appreciate those of you who are taking the time to answer.
Is it possible to transfer credit card balances to others' credit card accounts? Situation: Person A has multiple credit card balances on high interest credit cards and Person B has a credit card with a much lower interest rate. Due to a poor credit history, Person A can't obtain a low interest credit card. They've agreed to transfer it to Person B's low interest credit card and have Person A pay Person B the monthly payments to make it easier to pay down their high interest balances. Is this possible?
What credit card to get at 18 and not a college student? I always thought at 18 they love to give you credit cards, I've tried Capitol One, Chase, a QT credit card, and a Best Buy one. All deny due to no credit history. I obviously can't get Credit history if they won't let me have credit. I Work 2 jobs and just want to have one just in case and to actually build my credit. What's going on and why do i keep getting denied?
What is a good credit card to get that you almost will never get turned down for? I currently have two credit cards, but would like to get one final one. I've been getting turned down for a few recently that I thought sounded good. What are some good cards and websites where I can get a credit card that almost every gets approved for? I'm young(21) and trying to establish some more credit. My friend got approved for a Best Buy credit card tonight and his credit isn't that good. However, I just want a main card(for example: visa, discover) and not a store card. Thanks for any help.
Should I get a credit card? How do you choose the best credit card? I just finished college, and work full time. I have a debit card, and building good credit from paying off loans. A lot of people have been telling me to get a credit card, but I wonder if it really is necessary. Please give me some good reasons to get a credit card other than building good credit. The only other advantage I know about is those point-system/rewards credit cards, that earn you miles or other things. And what is the best credit card to get for a first time credit card holder? The number of choices are a little overwhelming. How did you choose your first/main credit card?
My credit card balance is over 50%. How long will it take my credit score to go back up? Hi. I recently just got my first credit card ever and used it to make a $1600 purchase. The credit limit is $3000, so obviously I'm over 50% of the balance, and I just learned that's bad for credit scores. I expect to be able to pay off the purchase in the next two or three months. Will my credit score go back up immediately after I get the balance on my card down, or will it take a while? Thanks.
Are credit card protection plans good for really really old people? They typically run .99 per $100 and the deal (supposedly) is that if after 90 days of coverage, the cardholder croaks, that they credit card amount owed is forgiven. In the case of elderly people in not the best of health and with large credit card debt ($5000+) is this a good idea? You'd basically be paying $500 a year and betting that you're going to be keeping a high credit card balance and that you'd be likely to croak relatively soon.
Is a credit card number really valid for a deposit on a service? I own a small business which often takes credit card numbers over the phone as a deposit. We recently had a customer no show, and she contested through her credit card company when we charged her (she claims it wasn't explained when she gave us her #). The credit card company took her side and said it is policy to allow anyone contesting to get their money back if there is no signature. How can this be? So many hotels and services take card #'s as deposits!
Can credit card companies close your accounts without warning? How does it affect your credit score? I received a letter in the mail from Juniper (iTunes Rewards) stating that they have closed my credit card account due to inactivity. I opened the account about 18 months ago and have never actually used it. Can they close my account just like that without any warning? How should I handle the situation? (Is there anything I can even do?) Also, I know that closing credit card accounts lowers your credit score. Does anyone know how much mine will be affected?
Is credit card debt considered an open account or a written contract? I live in the State of Georgia and am being sued over an old credit card that I defaulted on. It has been more than 4 years but less than 6 years since the date of default, so depending on whether credit card debt is considered an open account or a written contract in the State of Georgia, the Statute of Limitations may or may not apply. The Staute of Limitations is 4 years for open accounts and 6 years for written contracts. Does anyone know for certain which type applies for credit card debt in Georgia? The account is with Citibank MasterCard and was opened in the late 80's or early 90's. Thanks.
How can I get my credit card company to report account information? I got my credit report today and it shows that my total credit amount is $300 and I have $296 available. After further inspection I noticed that only one credit card had reported a credit limit/max balance and that all of my credit cards hadn't been reported since April. Is there an effective way to contact the credit card companies and get them to report accurate and up to date information to the credit bureaus? I feel that this issue is affecting my credit score, so I would like to fix this. Thanks in advance.
What is the ideal credit card for a college student to get? I am looking to get a credit card basically for emergency purposes (mostly for those unexpected car repairs) and christmas time when I don't have the money for gifts (I have a large family). What would be the ideal credit card for me to get? I have2 store credit cards, which are always paid off before I even recieve the bill, and an excellent credit score due to those cards, and student loans. I am looking for a card that doesnt have an annual fee, any suggestions?
How is a credit card considered a written contract instead of an open account? I am being sued by a collection agency for an old (over 3 years) Visa credit card debt. I live in Alabama and the Statue of Limitations on Open Accounts is 3 years. I hired an attorney but he says that I probably will have to settle because it is not an open account but a written contract account which has a SOL of 6 years. He says this because the collection agency produced a piece of paper that I signed when I opened the account (basically it's the credit card application). I researched on my own and most information that I found says that credit cards are always open accounts. I did find one place (Wiki Answers) where someone said that credit cards could be written contracts. Is my attorney wrong or can this indeed be a written contract in some way. I really need to know before I go to court. Please give me some type of solid backup to your answer and not just your opinion.
What credit card company processes transactions quickly into the system? When I make a purchase with my debit card and go home to check my bank account , the purchase is already in the system. But when I use my credit card it takes at least a couple days. If there are any credit card companies that process as fast as using a debit card, please let me know, Thanks
How and why is my credit card affected when I open and close a credit card? I see a great deal at a store to open up a credit card and get a prize or a rebate. If I want the big discount I open the credit card and then get the discount but I don't want or need the credit card at all. Is it better to close down this new card or keep it open with a zero balance? How does opening and closing account affect my credit score?
What happens to credit score if you close a store credit card? I have a few store credit cards (Macy's, Banana Republic, etc) in addition to a major credit card. I want to cancel some of the store credit card, but I don't know how that effects my credit rating. I think closing credit cards in general lowers credit scores, but what about those store cards?
How exactly does a credit card work? I want to apply for a credit card that starts out with a minimum credit line of $300. If I get it, it will be my first credit card. If I get the $300 credit, I want to make a purchase for like $200. Is this a good thing or a bad thing to do? Can someone give me some good tips on handling a credit card without getting bad credit? I will mostly be using this card trying to start an at-home business. Ya mama b*tch. Eat my p*ssy, h*e!!! Oh, rudecatt63, you've hurt my feelings ever so much, I'm going to cry....NOT. For someone who keeps visiting the GLBT section and has a rainbow in they're background, you sure do do a lot of gay bashing. Self hate is so stupid. But then again if I were you, I would probably hate myself too.
What is the best credit card to suit my needs? I want a credit card with a good balance tranfer offer. Six months at 0% will do fine. It might be nice for it to be otherwise a good credit card too because I might pay the balance off in about a month and still want to use the credit card. I already have a Amazon credit card with Chase so I think I need to use a different bank.
What is the best credit card for an 18 year old? I am only getting a credit card so that I can make small purchases and pay them off right away to build my credit. Please do not lecture me on how to use a credit card, I am already fully aware. I just want to know which credit cards have the lowest rates for an eighteen year old with no credit. Thanks in advance! If you are just going to answer "none' don't bother.
What is the best credit card to apply for for the first time? I have years of excellent on-time rental history, however I have no credit because I've never been in debt (always pay bills on time) go figure. I was wondering which credit cards I could apply for, for the first time. Wal-Mart Credit card rejected me because I have no credit, and I'm just looking for something small so I can put things on the card and pay them off quickly to establish some sort of credit. Any suggestions?
How does a credit card work and why do I have to get one? I just turned 18 and I am trying to get my own place but they said I need to have good credit. To have good credit, they said I have to build good credit, but the only way to build good credit is to have good credit. Why is that? I was looking at credit cards and purchases become way more expensive when you buy them a credit card. So why use one? But to build credit you need to use one. Am I mistaken? Could someone explain how a credit card works please?
What is the best credit card for an 18 trying to build credit? I’m soon to be 18 and am looking to get a credit card to help build credit. My dad said the best thing to do is to just use it to buy gas, but I’m not really all that up to date on how credit cards work and which ones are the best. Does anyone have any wise credit card wisdom to pass on to me?
what is the best credit card for a first timer who wants to build credit? I am very responsible with how I spend money, so please don't lecture me on how credit cards are so dangerous. I've waited til I felt financially secure enough to get one. I just want one so I can work on establishing credit. I want to make one or two monthly purchases and pay them off so I can have some credit. I just want to know what kind of card should I look into getting. I know I want a card with low-intrest rates(who doesn't) and no annual fees. I am also a college student. If you can give me any information on a card you think I should look into, please let me know. thanks a bunch.
What is the best credit card to get for a college student? I would like to know which credit card is best since I am a college student. Some people tell me it's "Capital One" other say that's the worst since they get unknown charges, others say that the credit card from your bank is better. So which credit card has been best for you guys??? This is my first time getting a credit card (in which I hate them' cause u get addicted to it) so I have no idea of which 1 to get.
What credit card out there has the easiest approval? I have some credit, but not a whole lot. My credit score is 628. I also have a delinquncy with Chase, which I am trying to pay off now, but I want to get a different credit card in the mean time to make payments on that to increase my score. So what are some credit cards that will approve almost instantly with a credit score like that? I just want to get it to improve my credit.
How does getting credit back on your credit card work? Let's say I buy something for $100. I return it and they say I will have that credit back on my credit card. So now my credit card balance is $100? What if I paid for that $100 already and then returned it and got credit back? Can a credit card have a balance and have money withdrawn from it?
Which credit card companies will give credit cards to someone who is a discharged bankrupt? A friend of mine was made bankrupt a few years ago, but has been discharged for about 18 months or so. So he can try and build his credit up, which credit card companies would allow him to obtain a credit card? He is not interested in the interest rate etc - he just wants a company who will definitely say yes, as if they say no, it will make his credit scoring worse.
How does your credit get affected by a closed credit card account due to a stolen credit card? What happens to one's credit when the person's sole credit card is taken and used illegally? We're not sure how this will affect efforts to refinance, as this is my wife's only credit card. She will be receiving a replacement in the next week and will have an affidavit indicating that the charges were not hers. Any suggested approaches to ensuring that her credit info is considered before the card was stolen and the account closed?
Is a secured credit card a good way to establish credit? I have no credit history cause i've never had a credit card or borrowed money or anything and I want to establish credit now. well I applied for a credit card that required a deposit..secured credit card will that help boost my credit and how high will my score go once i start establishing credit?
What is the best credit card to apply for online? I want a limit of maybe 10,000 dollars to help with my wedding. I also currently have a credit card, my only credit card of 3,000 dollars that I would like to pay off with the new credit card. I have very good credit so I really dont think that will be an issue.
What is the best credit card to apply for to rebuild credit? I have a pretty low credit score (597) and want to begin rebuilding my credit. The score is low from charge offs about 3 years ago. Is there a certain bank or credit card that is easier on people like me that will give me a credit card? And yes--I do plan on paying on time. It would be for small simple purchases that I would otherwise buy with cash and could pay off easily each month.
How will requesting a new credit card but not activating it affect my credit? I requested a new credit card with a lower interest rate than my two cards now with the intentions of paying off the two cards with my new card. The new card credit limit is not enough to pay off the other two, however, so I don't want it anymore. I requested it online, was "approved," and just received it in the mail today. What will happen if I just throw it away without activating it?
What is the best credit card to start my credit? I recently turned 18 and im in a great living situation. i live with my dad, make about 1000 a month and im a musician. I wanted to buy a new bass and amp, but more importantly need to start my credit. I already have the money to buy the bass today, but i wanna see if i can start my credit with this purchase. The stores i went to say i need at least a 700 score to apply for their credit. Is there any credit i can apply for, without having to pay financing and apr and so on without having credit to begin with. >? do we have to pay the credit card company if we are not using it even for a penny?
What does it mean for a credit card to be a platinum credit card? Many credit cards say they are platinum, and say platinum on them. I know there's got to be a meaning for that. But what does it mean? How is a platinum credit card different from a non-platinum credit card? Please, no links to websites, just answer the question.
Add credit card debt amount to new home purchase? I have about 25K in credit card debt. I am planning to buy a 540K house. Currently I have great credit, is it possible to add my credit card debt into the home loan in order to make it a single monthly payment. What is the loan program called? I am shooting for 5 yr. ARM. Me and my wife plan to live there for about 3-4 yrs.
How often can credit card companies reduce my limit on my credit card? I got a letter from a credit card company saying that they have reduced my credit limit without any previous warning. Is there a limit to how often can they do this? Can they do it how ever many times they wish? For example, once every six months/year? Also, Is there any way to see it coming? The letter is not the warning because when i get the letter, the limit change is already in effect.
How much of my credit card do I need to have paid to improve my credit score? When I turned 18 I knew I needed credit cards to grow credit. When I reached the $500 limit on my first card and the $2000 limit on my new card when I found that this was not good for my credit. I hear that as long as you don't spend more than half of the available balance your credit will be fine. Is this true?
How good does your credit need to be to get an airmiles card? I am 19 and i just got approved for my first credit card about 5 months ago. I use my card alot and always pay it off in full. I was just wondering how good my credit needs to be, and how long it takes to get good enough credit, to get an airmiles card?
What is the easiest department store credit card to apply for with bad credit? I'm interested in applying for a department store credit card like Carsons, Target, Wal-Mart, etc. However, my credit is not all that great right now but I would like a chance to RE-BUILD it. Does anyone have any experience with getting a department store credit card but you had bad credit? I appreciate and thank-you guys in advance for your kind answers and intelligent business advice.
How does someone build credit without a credit card? I am thinking of those who do not have a credit card and pay for everything by check and cash. How is their credit rated? Is it based on a loan for example (car, student, etc.) and what if it is their first time applying for such a loan? How is their credit history looked at then? What if someone is applying for an apartment rental and does now own a credit card? I have always wondered this. Also, some people, after having paid off their debt, switch to using cash or check only, but apparently no activity at all on your credit card accounts isn't good either. Any input?
Is a credit card a good idea to build credit after bankruptcy? I have an unsecured $250 limit card that I got to re-establish my credit after my discharge. Problem is these cards are full of fees and monthly dues but they do report to all 3 bureaus which is good. Am I going to be on the same situation no matter who gives me a credit card as far as fees and high interests? I wonder if a secured credit card would help me better? Any suggestions?
What happens when I pay off a credit card before a returned purchase has been credited back? I bought a jacket last month with a credit card, immediately paid off the balance, as I always do, but have now decided to return the jacket for a refund. How will this be handled by the credit card, as my balance currently sits at $0? Will the credit just sit there on the credit card account until I charge up to that amount? Would I be able to have that amount transferred back to my bank account? Thanks.
What do you do if credit card payments are included as a category on a household monthly budget template? How can expenses from other budget categories be tracked clearly if "credit card payments" covering a variety of expenditures is used on the budget spreadsheet rather than the specific budget lines for each category of items paid for with a credit card? For instance, if clothing purchases are paid with a credit card and listed on the budget line for "credit card payments" they cannot also be listed on the "clothing" budget line, or the budget will be out of balance. But if those clothing purchases are only included as part of the "credit card payments" budget line, it will not be clear how much was actually spent on clothing when reviewing the budget at the end of the month. Though it is more work, wouldn't it be better to delete the lines for credit card payments from the budget template altogether, and just break down from the credit card statement how much was spent using the credit card on each appropriate budget line (clothing, gas, groceries, etc.)? Thank you for your replies.
How much will closing a credit card account affect my credit rating? Despite a flawless payment history over the last 20 years, Citibank is raising my rate by 5%. I would easily give them the heave-ho, but I've heard that a long-standing credit card account has a positive effect on your credit rating. How big a hit would my credit rating take if I closed the Citibank account?
What is the consequence for paying off your current credit card debt with a new credit card? I have 2 credit cards and they're not even that much. I've been paying every month to reduce the balance but after interest charges, it seems to go straight back up. I recently checked my credit score, and it's in pretty OK shape. I know if I get another credit card, my credit limit will be enough to cover for both debts. My plan is to just get a new credit card with no interest for one year and pay them off then cancel my other 2 credit cards. Is that a safe idea? Will it affect my credit score (negatively) that much to do so? Thanks.
What to do when your credit card company causes overdrafts at your bank? I recently paid my credit card bill of $2.27, however the credit card company entered the payment as $227.00, causing $50 in overdraft fees at my bank. The credit card company had me fax over a statement with the bank fees on it so they can take care of it, however after 3 weeks they still haven't done it, they tell me that they don't even know if the statement is in the building and that they get hundreds of faxes a day and as soon as they get to it, they will handle it, what if this takes months? Is there a way I can make them take care of this matter more quickly? I just went ahead and paid my banks fees just so I could use my bank account again. Did I do the right thing? What if the credit card company never received the fax and they end up asking for another one, how can I make sure that they receive it? They corrected the mistake between the $2.27 and $227.00, maybe that's all I can hope for.

How much should i charge on my secured credit card to get the best credit rating? How much should i charge on my secured credit card to get the best credit rating? I can charge up to $500 on my secured credit card and want to know how much should I charge on my secured credit card to get the best credit rating. I need to build credit because I got none. I'll be paying it off every month. I'm wondering how much I should charge on my secured credit card every month out of my $500 maximum.
I closed a credit card and tried to reopen it? I closed a credit card yesterday and today decided it would be better for my credit score to keep the card open. I called to see if they could re-open the card but they said no. It is a chase credit card, I have good credit (but I recently bought a house). I usually do not keep a balance on this card. I spend a couple hundred dollars on it every 4-5 months. What reasons do credit card companies have for not allowing me to re-open my card?
What credit card would you recommend for a college student? This will be my first credit card. I am not planning on carrying any balance. I just want to build my credit history. I am making enough money to cover any purchases and plan to pay in full each month, so I don't really care about the interest rate.
What is a good credit card to get with average credit? I know there is a whole bunch of crappy credit cards I can get but I want a decent one like ( Discover, Citibank,Visa,MasterCard) but I only have average credit which is not great but it isnt poor so I just want to know which one can I apply for and MOST LIKELY get approved for? Is it possible to attach a credit or debit card to Itunes after creating an account? I want to create an Itunes account but have reached a dilemma. I have a gift card and prefer to use it instead of a credit card but I might need it later. First of all, is it possible to create an account without entering a credit card, and doing it later? I prefer to have it charged to my gift card first. Also, if it is compulsory to attach a credit card, which one do purchases get charged to first?
Is there a credit card for young adults that have no credit what so ever? Alright, I have searched the internet and asked people this question. I want to get a credit card to help build my credit. But I am having trouble finding a real credit card. I do not want a debit card. I know they exist, so please help me. Is there a real credit card for people with absolutely no credit?
How can I start a small Credit Card Company? I am curious to know how much start up money would be needed to start a small Credit Card Company. I am interested in extending credit with Secured Credit Cards with low limits for individuals looking to establish or re-establish credit by a secured credit card. Also I have thought about prepaid debit cards for those in chexsystems and cannot get conventional checking accounts. Any help? What I mean is not to broker, but to be able to start a very small company directly.
How do you get a credit card with bad credit? I am trying to pick my credit score back up off the floor and have heard that you can do this by applying for credit cards and making the payments on them. Nice! Except, I went through a divorce and my credit is now lowsy. I pay all my bills on time and have a decent job, yet credit card companies don't give me the time of day. Does anyone know of a company that will work with a credit slacker like me?
Is it better for your credit to have several credit cards with moderate limit, or one card with a high limit? I have zero debt. I also have several credit cards. I am wondering how it will affect my credit to request the highest limit for each card, or if I should cancel all but 2 and have those with high spending limits. Along the same lines, how does "available" credit affect one's credit score negatively or positively? If I get a $50,000 limit on a card (with 0 balance) but say, go to buy a car, will I be denied because I have too much credit out there?
How do I close empty credit card accounts? I have recently checked my credit report and I realized I had several credit card accounts which were unused for several years running with a zero balance for some time. I would like to close them to resolve my accounts and improve my overall credit. I have to admit that some of the credit companies are quite odd (not cititbank or MBNA) but smaller credit houses from obscure stores I once purchased something to earn the 10% off etc. How do I go about contacting the credit card companies to close these empty accounts?
What is overdraft protection using my credit card? My bank has online banking and has the option to add overdraft protection using my credit card. You have to request it on the online banking website. They ask you to choose the credit card you have and than click on which account you will be using? Why would they ask me to choose the checking account I will be using for my credit card overdraft protection, when my credit card is completely different my checking account? If I overdraft my credit card, do they automatically take money from my checking account to pay the fee or something? I don't understand quite how overdraft protection works on credit cards as opposed to a checking account.
Can my credit card company unilaterally lower my Credit limit at its discretion? How likely is this? I have a credit card with a credit limit of $12,500. I have not only been making the payments each month, but I have been paying off my monthly balance at the end of each month consistently. My father told me that, given the situation of today's financial market, the bank can decide to lower my limit. Is this possible? Is this likely? If so, what factors would influence their decision to lower my credit limit?
No credit, How do I start and what is a good credit card for a beginner\r? I am 20 years old and after trying to get a card for a store I find I have 0 credit history. What credit card should I look into getting? I am looking into getting a credit card for emergencies only, though slowly building up my credit is a bonus. I am mainly looking to get a credit card because I will be studying abroad in Ireland in January and would like the security of a credit card for emergencies. What types of cards would be best for a 19-year-old college student that would be accepted in Ireland and what types of things should I look for in my search for the best credit card for me? Again, this card would only be used for emergencies. Thanks!
What types of credit cards pays the customer for using the card? Can you please include the types of cards that a 19- year- old can get. What I mean is, some credit cards are difficult to receive based on age etc. I have a credit card and I dont like that company and I am about to actually close the account, but I want another credit card..

What credit card info is needed for buying a house? I'm a stay-at-home mom with a large credit card balance. I have no outside income. My husband may be taking a new job which will require us to move. My credit card debt is in my name only, and my husband does not know of it. I was wondering if at any point in buying our new house if my own personal credit card debt would even come up, since only his income is an issue.
can a credit card be transferred after the death of the primary holder? For many years I have been caregiver to my elderly parents. We have one credit card, for which my father is the primary card holder, and my mother and I are authorized users. However, I am the only one who uses the card, and the bill is paid in full every month, with no outstanding balance. I use the card for everything, groceries, paying bills, ordering prescriptions, etc. Now, my father is seriously ill and may not live much longer. What happens if God forbid he dies? Can the credit card account be transferred to my mother's or my name?
How do I establish credit without a credit card? Credit cards are becoming more and more picky about extending credit, and the interest rates are through the roof. What are some other ways I can establish solid credit without a credit card or major expenses? I go to college full time and work full time, I don't want to get into heavy debt.
Need to find a credit card that allows a cosigner, not just adding an additional card holder? I am a student with a part time job and my mother has agreed to cosign for a credit card with a great rate. However, she does not want to be the primary card holder or choose the option to apply and add me as an additional card holder (as many cards offer that option). She wants me to be the primary card holder and just be the cosigner to increase my chances of a better credit limit. Where can I find a such card?
What is the easiest student credit card to get? I've already applied for 2 other cards and have been denied because I have not "revolving" credit history. But they weren't student credit cards, which is what I guess I should have applied for first. Anyway what would be the easiest student credit card to get? Share your experiences please.

How much credit card company charge for each transaction? How much credit card company charge for each transaction? Since credit card company gives reward credit for using their cards, in situations I can use either case or check, should I opt for credit cards because they offer reward points? Or it does no matter? Thank you for suggestions? I pay off the statement balance each month.
How will my credit score be affected by cancelling my credit card? I have had this credit card for 2 years now, and it charges an annual fee (it is designed for people with little credit and they report monthly to the bureaus). Less than a month ago, I was approved for a credit card with no fees and a lower interest rate. I would like to cancel the old card because I don't want to pay the annual fee, but how will affect my credit score? Should I keep it open?
